Nathaniel Kessel | Computer Engineering Student

PCB Design | Embedded Systems | Hardware Design

I am a 3rd-year Computer Engineering student at the University of Cincinnati focused on the intersection of digital logic and physical hardware. My primary focus includes PCB Design, Embedded Systems, and Audio Electronics. I am currently seeking Fall 2026 Co-op positions where I can contribute to robust hardware and firmware projects.

I thrive in the lab, soldering both THT and SMT components, verifying designs with an oscilloscope, and designing custom PCBs in KiCad. My background in Aviation Maintenance taught me to troubleshoot and document complex systems early on, a mindset that allows me to stick to strong safety standards and stay accountable. I aim to build hardware that is repairable and embodies a built-to-last philosophy. I hope in doing so that I can create value for those that use my products, and create a fantastic user experience in both hardware and software. I want to bring this to cooperative education opportunities and contributing to open source projects in my free time.
